As part of the project, 14 staff members from the Faculty of science were awarded 17 scholarships to act as Ph.D. thesis advisors for the project in the year 1998. Of the 17 scholarships awarded, 10 have been allocated to Physical Science, 5 to Biological Science and 2 to Biotechnology.
