Cooperation with Monash University

The link between the Faculty of Science and the Water Studies Centre, Monash University, has been continuing since 1986 under the Agreement for Academic Exchange. At present collaboration is being carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding between Chiang Mai University and Monash University on Academic and Research Collaboration. Academic exchange is taking place on modern analytical techniques known as Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) and a newsletter called “Flow Injection News” has been started with Dr. Ian McKelvie and Dr. Kate Grudpan as co-editors.

A graduate student (Ms Monsa na Patalung) has been awarded a 4-month scholarship under the Thai Students and Teachers Foreign Institute Exchange Programme of the Ministry of University Affairs to conduct research on Water Quality as part of her thesis under the co-supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kate Grudpan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ian Campbell. Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ian Campbell and Dr. Ron Beckett served as special lecturers with the Faculty of Science at Chiang Mai University.
