Abstract

Actinomycetes isolated from soil and litter samples in Thailand were screened for formate dehydrogenase production for rare sugar production. Ten of 141 isolates showed some growth in a medium containing sodium formate as carbon source. Three out of the positive group were identified as Streptomyces spp. And show to be thermotorelant which growth at 45oC.
